- SEJARAH SINGKAT
SMAN 1 Martapura berdiri pada tanggal 14 september 1974 dengan Nama SMU Negeri 1 Martapura, pada tanggal 19 Nopember 1978 beralih status menjadi Sekolah Negeri dengan nama SMA Negeri 1 Martapura, Kemudian pada 7 Maret 1997 berganti Nama menjadi Sekolah Menengah Umum Negeri 1 Martapura atau SMU Negeri 1 Martapura dan pada tahun 2004 berubah nama lagi menjadi Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri 1 Martapura atau SMAN 1 Martapura, SMAN 1 Martapura berada di pusat Ibukota Kabupaten Banjar yaitu beralamat di Jalan Ahmad Yani N0.59A, Keraton, Martapura, Banjar, Kalimantan Selatan. SMAN 1 Martapura berdiri di atas lahan 7.910 M2.
Pada tahun 2007 SMAN 1 Martapura mendapat kepercayaan dari pemerintah menjadi Sekolah Rintisan Bertarap Internasional (RSBI). Pada tahun 2010 SMA Negeri 1 Martapura juga memperoleh sertifikat ISO 9001: 2008 dari Lembaga Sertifikasi Sistem Mutu dan berhasil mempertahankan pengakuan kelayakan penyandang sertifikat ISO untuk tahun 2011. Dengan adanya kebijakan baru KEMENTERIAN PENDIDIKAN DAN KEBUDAYAAN, pada tahun 2013 tentang penghapusan RSBI maka SMA Negeri 1 Martapura kembali ke status sekolah biasa.
Pada tahun 2015 SMAN1 Martapura Mendapat Penghargaan dari Presisen RI sebagai Sekolah Adiwiyata Mandiri Nasional, Pada tahun 2015 juga mendapat Penghragaan dari Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan RI sebagai Sekolah Berintegritas dalam penyelenggaraan Ujian Nasional, dengan Indek Integritas 94,15.
Pada tahun 2019 ini SMAN 1 Martapura mendapat kesempatan menjadi SMA Zonasi.
